Terms & Conditions
The rules that govern your use of the Liksens platform.
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Liksens platform (the "Service") operated by the Liksens team. By registering an account, logging in, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
Liksens is an independent application-preparation service. We do not issue firearm licences, nor do we submit or approve applications on behalf of the South African Police Service (SAPS). Final applications must be submitted through the appropriate SAPS / Designated Firearms Officer process.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
- You must be 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into contracts in South Africa.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to update it as needed.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that are inactive, fraudulent, or used in a way that violates these Terms.
3. Service Description
The Service provides tools for firearm licence consultant practices and individual applicants to prepare, organise, review and track firearm licence application information and supporting documents. Features include:
- Guided application wizards aligned with SAPS forms;
- Document storage and vault management;
- Review and sign-off workflows between practices and clients;
- Application tracking and status updates;
- Payment processing for preparation services.
We may change, suspend or discontinue features at any time, with reasonable notice where materially adverse to paid users.
4. Payments, Fees and 7-Day Refund Policy
Certain services on the platform carry a fee, which is displayed before you confirm payment. Fees are set by the platform or by individual practices, depending on the product selected.
7-day refund policy. If you are not satisfied with a paid preparation service and no work has been finalised or submitted for review, you may request a full refund within 7 (seven) calendar days of the payment date. Refund requests must be sent to support@liksens.co.za and include the payment reference and reason for the refund. Refunds are not available once the application pack has been released to SAPS or a final document has been signed off by the client as complete and accurate.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days. We reserve the right to withhold a refund if fraud, abuse, or repeated refund requests are suspected.
5. Client / Practice Relationship
Where a practice uses Liksens to prepare applications on behalf of a client, the practice remains the client's service provider. Liksens is a technology platform and does not provide legal or firearms advice. Practices are responsible for:
- the accuracy of information entered on behalf of clients;
- obtaining necessary consents and authority from clients;
- compliance with POPIA and other applicable laws.
6. Acceptable Use
You may not use the Service to:
- provide false, misleading or fraudulent information;
- impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity;
- upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing material;
- attempt to access data or accounts belonging to other users;
- interfere with the security, availability or performance of the platform.
7. Data Privacy
Our use of personal information is described in the Privacy Notice. By using the Service you consent to the collection and processing of your data as described there.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Liksens and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or R1,000, whichever is greater.
We do not guarantee that any firearm licence application will be approved by SAPS. The outcome of every application depends on the facts of the case and SAPS decision-making.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at this page. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
10. Contact
Questions about these Terms should be sent to support@liksens.co.za.
Important note. These Terms are provided as a standard template for the Liksens platform. They do not constitute legal advice. The platform owner should have the final version reviewed by a qualified South African legal professional before relying on them in commerce.
